Description from the manufacturer
Graphite is a crystalline form of pure carbon, formed naturally in the earth’s mantle when carbonacious material is subjected to pressure. It has the same chemical composition as diamond, but has a unique molecular structure. It has been used in artistic applications since at least the fourth millennium BC. The most common application of graphite in artist materials today is in pencils and, like graphite pencils, this pigment has a metallic sheen.
