Description from the manufacturer
Pompeii Red is the vibrant red found in the Roman murals uncovered at the destroyed city of Pompeii. The colour of red earth pigments is created by the presence of hematite– an iron-oxide-based mineral. The exact shade varies from location to location due to the concentration of hematite and the presence of other minerals that is specific to that area.
