How to choose colors?
Brand
You are given a random color mixing pair from a brand and you are shown some similar colors from the same brand. You can see all the available brand colors by clicking (...) (By doing so, your mixing chart will change!)
You can choose another color by clicking on it and go back to limiting your choices to colors similar to it by clicking (.)
Your chart will change every time you click something!
(You can ignore the random chart mixer and just use the usual "Color mixer" mixing between your 2 colors.)
Medium
View similar colors from other brands within the same medium (your art material category).
Note that it depends on the medium how many brands we have with colors to mix with and show as similar.
Search database colors
You can choose a different brand and color by searching.
Palette
You can add mixed colors to your palette and select them as base colors for color mixing. Your palette is only available during your session. Leaving the Color mixer clears your palette.
Digital colors
You can add your digital colors in different formats (or modify the current one) and send them to your palette.
Randomize
You can randomize a new color for any of these categories ("Brand" "Medium" "Palette"... ) when being selected by clicking "Randomize new color".
Other randomization options
New mixing pair
You can randomize a new mixing pair clicking the icon below your 2 colors (It will give you a random brand from a random medium.)
New color chart
Get variations for your mixing chart by clicking the icon. (This can be more or less similar to the previous one, always containing your 2 colors.) Click-a-lot!
Saving options for visitors
You can find your recent mixes under "History" and reload them as your current mix by clicking. Your "History" is only available during your session. Leaving the Color mixer clears your "History".
Save session favorites to make it easier to find them. (Your history can get quite long quickly, if you get absorbed in mixing.)
You can copy or bookmark your page URL and get back to your mixing pair at any time (but with a newly generated color chart).
